Tamar Messer is based on a timely prayer for peace found in the Kaddish and elsewhere.
Tamar Messer is a highly talented and respected Israeli artist and teacher. Her works include books on biblical subjects in limited and unlimited editions, among which are the Passover Haggadot, Song of Songs, the Book of Ecclesiastes, the Book of Lamentations, and the Book of Ruth. She also offers ketubot, silkscreen prints of biblical stories, very limited edition prints of the signs of the Zodiac, illustrated scrolls of Megillat Esther, sculpture, mosaic work, invitations for bar/bat mitzvahs and weddings, and matzah and challah covers. Her various techniques include silk screen, linoleum printing, Japanese paper cutting, sculpture and mosaic work.
Copies of her limited edition biblical books and prints can be found in various art collections around the world including the New York Jewish Museum, Harvard University, Yale University, the Library of Congress, and The Jewish Theological Seminary, as well as in private collections in Israel and abroad.
Tamar’s imagery draws on the panoramas, seasons, and flora and fauna of the Land of Israel, and her color palate is influenced by the vivid Mediterranean light, sun, and sea.
